Determine how payer mix is affecting your practice, or make market trend comparisons. Compare your revenue and expenses with practices of the same specialty, geographic location and size. Comparing your practice to your peers makes it easier to spot areas needing improvement or areas of opportunity, and provides insight into how your practice is really functioning. KPI Benchmarking is an ongoing process, requiring continuous analysis to develop strategic goals and then refine them. Alerts are issued when there are exceptions. Corrective action may result in reassessing objectives and benchmarks, or implementing new processes. Again, these actions are monitored and measured for their effectiveness, and performance is tracked. Over time, strategies can be refined and processes improved.
